A CHANCE MEETING LED TO CREATING A LINE.

SIMRITA DHILLON was browsing in stores in SOHO, MANHATTAN, wearing her Red Pant Suit when she bumped into Sahar Kariman. Sahar complimented her about her Red Pant Suit and asked where she bought it. Elated with the compliment, Simrita told her she designed it and promised to ship one piece for her from her atelier in Mumbai, India. Sahar's Pant Suit created a demand here in Manhattan. She send Simrita Dhillon pictures modelling in it, which essentially became the first campaign and told her that customers where asking wear to buy the design. A new line was created based on this demand. Sometimes, browsing and conversations with strangers, can lead to a friendship and a business. Giving a Pant Suit, a gesture of pure giving, led to YUKARI. It means a connection in Japanese. After all, we are all CONNECTED.

THE RED PANT SUIT

Creating Fast Fashion in Mumbai, Simrita discovered the story of a Rare Fabric from a village in Central India. She bought a piece of this fabric for herself and created a modern 'print on print' PANT SUIT. The story of Slow Design, how the fabric was created over weeks intrigued her. In this frentic life, it seems an oasis of Heritage waiting to be translated to a modern Urban Woman, just like herself. She created the first RED pant suit, and wore it to an afternoon of easy browsing in SOHO, Manhattan. Her artisanal piece got noticed in SOHO, the stylish Epicentre of the Universe.

And, there's the Puff Ball

A must-have shape for a day to evening look is the 'PUFF BALL' Dress, a shape which compliments the PANT SUIT. Always in Rare Fabrics, the Puff Ball is made of a Heritage Dupatta that traditional Indian women don with their clothes. Constructing a dress from this lightweight fabric is a task of dedication and great craftsmanship.  A piece of art, hang this dress in your living room or on your shoulders, it will be noticed by the sophisticated eye, be it in Milan's Trussardi Cafe, or in a Rustic Road in Rajasthan, or even inspirational Florence's Ponte Vecchio to Le Corbusier's designed, Chandigarh the city where Simrita grew up.
